at AfrAsia World of Art to unveil “ISLAND OF LIGHT”, a MauriƟus-inspired
creaƟon and latest addiƟon to his New Urban Wonderland oeuvre.
Mirroring his personal vision of the island, the art piece comes out as
uƩerlymodern and vibrant, yet inspired by cultural heritage. Says the arƟst:
“When I stepped foot on MauriƟan soil, I felt immediately the New Urban
Wonderland vibe, with this dynamic city skyline set in buzzing Port Louis
and heritage all around. This, combined with a really friendly mulƟcultural
people and smiling children, has been a very sƟmulaƟng experience.”
The “Island of Light” is scheduled for display at art fairs all around the
world and in famous corporate and private art collecƟons. The unveiling
was made possible thanks to the collaboraƟon with 3A The Excellence of
Art, the Dinarobin Hotel Golf & Spa of the Beachcomber Group and IBL.

The inaugural 2014 AfrAsia Bank Cape Wine AucƟon, which
tookplaceonSaturday15thMarch,witnessed the remarkable
realisaƟon of a bold dream when an astounding R7.045
million was raised for educaƟon in the Cape winelands.
This annual charity event, modeled in the famous Napa
Valley, was one of the most significant internaƟonal wine-
charity aucƟons ever conceived in South Africa. The two-day
event was a top drawer affair that celebrated South Africa’s
vinous offering on an internaƟonal stage, while uniƟng the
industry around the philanthropic goal of raising a significant
amount of money for disadvantaged children.
