The first golf tournament of the season was held on Saturday
12th April at the Heritage- Bel Ombre Golf Club. A compeƟƟon
for children/beginners was also organised and was played over
18 holes, with the best 12 holes counƟng towards the final score.

A first in MauriƟus and in line with AfrAsia Bank’s sponsorship and
CSR iniƟaƟve, 24MauriƟan childrenwill have the unique opportunity
to visit the FCB clinic in Barcelona to learn about football skills and
tacƟcs in accordance with the same methods that are used with the
Barça youth teams. They will take part in parallel high level training,
leisure and recreaƟonal acƟviƟes related to football and Barça.
Key AcƟviƟes:
1.
Train and give the opportunity to 24 best players aged 10-14
to go to Barcelona for an intense football clinic for 1 week in July
2014. The first trial was recently carried out at the Auguste Vollaire
Stadium in Flacq. Based on specific skills test, the parƟcipants were
evaluated independently but also according to their performance
as a team member. For the upcoming trials, completed forms will
have to be sent out 5 days beforehand. The maximum parƟcipant
capacity per age group is 200 and the trials will be on a first-come,
first served basis; only those registered will be able to parƟcipate
should the 200 figure be reached. The forthcoming 3 trials will be
carried out in June at different stadiums in the island. Click

2.
Offer a 2 week FC Barcelona football clinic for 400+ children in
December 2014. FC Barcelona coaches and pro players to be present
during these 2 weeks. A fee will be applied for each child to enter
the clinic / this event will be self-funded
3.
Open a 1 year football academy to coach the best players in July
2015 leading to professional league team
