Dear Clients and Friends of AfrAsia Bank,
We are pleased to present the latest issue of our newsletter. Above all, I am thrilled to announce
that AfrAsia Bank has just turned 7 years old and it has been an amazing journey since inception.
October has always been a special month to AfrAsia; 7 years ago, we set out on a mission to boldly
seize the moment and today we are more than delighted to officially enter a new era of customer
experience with the opening of our new conceptual branch in Ebene.
This seventh year of operations was further highlighted by a solid note reporting with operating
profit for the Bank reaching MUR 506m for the year ended 30 June 2014, a 49% increase on the MUR
303m reported in the previous year. I would like to thank all customers for their trust, employees
for their unremitting commitment and passion they bring everyday as well as all our stakeholders.
As part of our recent activities we have been involved in, we have launched the AfrAsia BankMauritius
Open 2015, a first tri-sanctioned tournament in the world involving the Sunshine, European and
Asian Tours. AfrAsia Golf Masters is also coming up in December 2014 at Anahita, and we are gearing
up for another successful edition. As a private and corporate bank, our aim is to be in line with
supporting a sports partnership strategy that is aligned with business diversity and international
presence, which also explains our commitment to the 2
nd
edition of AfrAsia International 7’s Rugby
Tournament.
We have also celebrated the best of the local business community whose courage, foresight, and
determination have created and sustained successful, growing business ventures at the AfrAsia
Tecoma Award 2014.
We continue to attend conferences, including leveraging panel speaking opportunities in the
region and internationally to bridge Africa to the world, and showcase Mauritius as a fundamental
international financial centre of substance and the gateway to the African continent.
As you would remember, we unveiled our pioneering rewards program XtraMiles, a fewmonths ago,
differentiating ourselves through priceless privileges, and I am pleased to share with you a snapshot
of the recently launched communication campaign in this newsletter.
For now, I wish you a pleasant read and look forward to share more exciting news in the months
ahead.
Best regards
James Benoit, CFA
CEO
