INTERNATIONAL WOMEN DAY
To mark the International Women Day 2017, in line with this
year’s theme #BeBoldForChange, AfrAsia Bank offered 20 free
breast cancer screening vouchers to ladies visiting its Port
Louis and Ebene branches on 8th March. The vouchers were
offered to women from all walks of life to convey the bank’s
strong belief that women need to take care of themselves as
they are instrumental in the success of their families as much
as they are key to the progress of our little Island.
Originally termed the International Working Women Day, this
special day was first celebrated on 28 February 1909 in New
York to celebrate the achievements of women all around the
globe.
